On the third day, Australia opener Warner finished 7000 runs in Test cricket. He is the twelfth Australian batsman to score 7000 runs in Test cricket.

David Warner has become the fastest Australian cricketer to score 7000 Test runs. He broke the record of former veteran Greg Chappell by scoring 7000 Test runs in 151 innings.

Steve Smith holds the record for the fastest 7000 Test runs scored in 126 innings. Matthew Hayden scored 142, Ricky Ponting 145, while Michael Clarke scored 7000 Test runs in 149 innings.
