According to a report in Hindustan Times, the Bollywood industry has incurred a big loss of Rs 250-300 crore in the first quarter of 2020.
The special thing is that in this first quarter only Ajay Devgan’s film Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior has been the only superhit film.
Also, there are no good signs for the coming days and even big films will not be released on Eid. In such a situation, the business on Eid will also be greatly affected.
Bad start of second-quarter:
At the same time, trade analyst Taran Adarsh said, ‘The first quarter of 2019 was very bad and now the destruction of the second quarter has started due to no big films being released on Eid.’
Apart from this, new episodes are not coming in the TV industry due to the shooting stops, due to which many serials have to be closed.
The release of many big stars’ films has been postponed due to the lockdown, which has also severely affected the business.
Speaking about the films released in the first quarter of 2020, only Tanhaji did well and did a business of around Rs 270 crore. At the same time, a lot of expectations were made from the Tiger Shroff starrer film Baaghi-3, but the theaters closed a few days after the film’s release.
Due to this, Irrfan Khan starrer film English Medium also did not perform very well and now the film has been released on the online platform.
