Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K Palaniswami also ordered to extend the lockdown period in the state till 30 April.
Earlier, Chief Ministers of Odisha, Maharashtra, Telangana, Punjab and Bengal extended the lockdown period in their state.
According to the Ministry of Health, there are a total of 7987 active cases in the country, while 856 people have become healthy while 308 patients have died in the case.
During the discussions with Prime Minister Modi, the Chief Ministers of all the states of the country had offered exemption from the lockdown of operations of certain industries.
Subsequently the Government of India has allowed a shift to 15 industries with a minimum staff strength as per the requirement.
These industries include optic fiber cables, compressor and condenser units, steel and ferrous alloy mills, powerloom, pulp and paper units, fertilizers, paints, plastics, vehicle units, gems and jewelery and transformers and circuit vehicles with SEZ and export companies.
Telecome equipments and components and food and beverages related industries will also be operational.
