Former PM Imran Khan was all praises for India as he lauded External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar for standing up to US pressure over buying oil from Russia.
Imran Addressing a huge gathering in Lahore, Imran Khan played a video clip of Foreign Minister S Jaishankar from Bratislava Forum held in Slovakia and praised him for standing firm to the US pressure over buying cheap oil from Russia.
He has often used India’s strong policy to drive home the point that Pakistan’s ruling coalition government headed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is meek in pursuing its interests.
At the rally, attended by thousands of PTI supporters, Imran Khan said If India got independence at the same time as Pakistan and if New Delhi can take a firm stand and make its foreign policy as per the need of its people then who are they (Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif government) who are towing the line,” Imran Khan said at the gathering, a video of which was shared by several media outlets.
He pointed out how India is buying Russian oil despite western pressure, while Pakistan is struggling to secure its people’s interest.
Criticizing the present Pakistan government, the former PM said “the imported dispensation has no courage to buy cheaper oil from Russia. Today the price of petrol and diesel is touching skies.”
This is not the first time Imran Khan has praised India over its Foreign Policy. Earlier, Khan praised India saying “no power can dictate terms to India which is a sovereign nation, unlike Pakistan.”
